Brits Round BC Update and Info Page

(click here for the preliminary info)

**Note from the Webmaster:  For those of you who are interested in BRBC I will be updating this page as I receive information from the wagonmaster (Ric) or our events coordinator (Howard).  There won't be regular announcements by e-mail so you will have to check back every so often.  I will change the date both on the Branch Events link and here, and I will highlight the new information so you can find it easily.  Let me know if you find errors or omission.

Update as of January 10, 2012 - just in from Ric

Latest update;

The Kaslo Motel is now reported as full. 17 already committed to the 'Tour'!
Anyone now wishing to book in Kaslo should go to, on your web, (ie;Google),
and search; accomadation in Kaslo BC. This should lead you to B&B's etc.
in the area. I know there are a number of them, and also the hotel, though it
was a bit pricey. There are, I think other smaller motels. This is a Small town so book
early.
Once again Trickle Creek in Kimberly has a toll free #, see last update, or 1-250-427-5175.

Thanks to all those have responded.

BRBC 2012 Update/Registration

Update as of Dec. 30, 2011

- Kimberley, Trickle Creek Lodge, Phone 1-877-282-1200 or 1-250-427-5175

This Lodge was reported as closed for the winter, but they are open.

- Kelowna, Okanagan Seasons Resort, Phone 1-800-665-1264

- Pemberton, Pemberton Valley Lodge, prices; Studio $ 129 1 Bdrm. suite $ 149

 Info. on Group tours/dinners;

Prices listed below are a Good ‘Ballpark’ as it is too early for a firm price, but should

   be close.

Osoyoos- Dinner at the Ridge Brew Pub, next door to the motel. I need a number for

                reservation.

- Kaslo—The HMS Moyie is a restored Lake Ferry, very well done and worth the tour.

There is a charge for the tour but we can get a group rate guided tour. $ 5.00pp.

              - Dinner, we could have a group dinner at the Kaslo Golf Club. I did not see a

restaurant suitable for a large group. other than this. Dinner would be bar-b-q

chicken/steak with salad and dessert? costing $15.00 pp. The time need not be

fixed, you could go in groups when you wish, as some may wish to go early so

as to visit Ainsworth Hot Springs that evening. I only need a number of those

interested in this dinner, else everyone fends for  themselves.

- Grand Forks- A lunch break is planned at the Museum there. It comprises several

buildings with a large grassy area to park and lunch. Lunch would be

catered by a sandwich shop. There was interest in announcing our visit

to the museum. We would be a sort of ‘attraction’. Cost $8.00 pp. inc.

                         water/soft drink.

- Kimberley- Group dinner the first night. Sorry I can’t give a price at this time but it

would be reasonable, probably $20 or so for a buffet.

- Revelstoke- Breakfast- Choices here are; 1- buffet with eggs, bacon, sausages, fruit,

                                         croissants etc. $13.75 2- same but pancakes/French toast $12.00

3- basic, yogurt fruit etc. $11.00. We need a min. of 20 people

and only 1 selection will be offered. Otherwise order off the

menu, or in town. The Lodge is about 10 min from town.

- Nakusp- Group rate at Nakusp on June 30, PM or evening of arrival.

Dinner 1st night at the Leland Hotel, a sort of ‘character’ Hotel on the lake.

This would be a choice of chicken, steak etc. again no price as yet but would

                   be reasonable, $ 20? pp.

Breakfast on July 2 at Kuskanax Lodge. I think this would be a menu but

possibly a buffet. We would get a group rate.

That’s it for now.  [Registration information below]

Registration for BRBC 2012

This registration is important for me in making this tour run as smoothly as possible.

**Closing Date for Registration is May 15, 2012**

  • A route guide will be supplied at the beginning of the tour. It will include all maps including the daily destination accommodation. Some ‘points of interest’ are included.

  • A souvenir license plate is included in the registration fee.  Some plates will be available to those doing part of the tour but priority will be given to those doing the entire Tour.

  • Meals are not included except in Kelowna.

  • Anyone also attending the AGM please see AGM on the OECC web site. We will co-ordinate a drive on Sunday June 24 to Hope, for those interested.

This is a tour, NOT a Military exercise, you have a lot of flexibility each day.

There are only 3 ‘Rules’;

  1. HAVE FUN.

  2. No Whining or complaining, this will be taken as 'volunteering' for the BRBC 2014.  Problems we can deal with, and as I have met all the hotel/motel people personally, I will do what I can to help.

  3. Don't take Yourself or Anyone too seriously.  See Rule #1!
