MINUTES

2007 ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

NOVEMBER 16, 2007

GRASSHOPPERS BAR & GRILL

1. Call to order at 6:55 p.m.

2. Minutes adopted meeting of previous AGM held November 17, 2006.

3. President Geoff Akehurst reported on the events of the past year, including:

(a) Punctually Challenged Christmas Party held February 3, 2007;

(b) Monck Park picnic meet cancelled;

(c) Hot Nights in the City poorly attended by club, perhaps attributable to it being held on a weekend rather than a week night;

(d) Steamed fish and chip run from Kamloops to Armstrong on September 15, 2007 attended by 8 cars;

(e) Steam engine event at Westwold well attended; and

(f) Kamloops Flying Club meet attended by 5 or 6 members.

There will be a meeting on March 21, 2008 chaired by Tony Bradwell to review the club’s 2008 events at which time there will be consideration of a drive to Penticton, the continuation or a substitute for the Monck Park picnic and the club’s continued involvement in the Hot Nights in the City venue.

4. Treasurer Earl Skaarup reported that the club has a bank balance of $849.74 and paid up membership of 24. He advised that the membership list needs to be updated.

5. Chosen for the executive for the coming year were:

(a) President:                       Geoff Akehurst
(b) Vice-president:               Bob Nicholson
(c) Treasurer:                       Lorraine Finnigan
(d) Membership:                  Ken Finnigan
(e) Event Coordinator:         Tony Bradwell
(f) Archivist:                         Francis Barnett
(g) Secretary:                       Richard Blair

6: The 2008 Punctually Challenged Christmas Party will be held at the home of Richard and Fearon Blair, 1708 High Ricardo Way, Kamloops, V2E 1L3, on Saturday, March 1, 2008, at 6 p.m.

7. The following were raised as other Business:

(a) The Club congratulated Ken Finnigan upon being inducted as a Life Member by the Greater Vancouver Motor Sport Pioneer Society for his more than 40 years involvement in motor sports as a constructor, racer and club builder;

(b) That the Club’s executive consider the creation of a web site advising of the existence of the HCBCC and the events it was holding;

(c) That the Club’s executive consider advertising its events in the community events calendar found in the local news media; and

(d) That Tour B.C. commences June 27, 2008 and will be in Kamloops on July 5, 2008.

8. There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at or about 7:30 p.m.
