Turn off at Port Renfrew ![]() Pit Stop after the turn off ![]() Stop at the Sitka Spruce along the way. The San Juan Spruce: Canada's largest Sitka Spruce. This massive building size tree is Canada's largest spruce tree when measured by wood volume (333 cubic meters). You can see the 62.5 meter top of it from the bridge as you cross the river. Now onward to Parksville for Dinner BRBC dinner arranged by A Ramsay (CIB) at the Quality Inn, Parksville, Monday evening After a much needed sleep, the next morning (Tuesday) breakfast also arranged by Al Ramsay, was at the Memorial Golf Course in Qualicum Beach at 09:30. Magnificent view of the ocean. Seems like all we do is drive and eat! ![]() ![]() ![]() After breakfast a tour of Bill & Rossie Whitehead's magnificent gardens in Qualicum Beach Now the other garden tour at the home of David & Louise Kelsey in Qualicum Beach ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Lunch at the Fanny Bay Inn, near Bowser (more Drive & Eat!) An evening Barbecue offered at the Netherville home in Courtenay After this the tour stayed over in Courtenay to catch the ferry the next morning to Powell River and onwards. This concluded the Central Island Brach's stage. A big THANK YOU to Al Ramsay and Bob Thompson for all their hard work arranging the CIB portion of the tour.
