Polar Bear Run

January 17, 2016 Moorecroft Regional Park, Nanoose Bay, BC

(42 Central Island members in attendance)

Theme: Wear as much visibly white clothing as possible.  After the walk we headed for lunch, at the Fairwinds Golf Club.  As with other years we held the traditional raffle for the adoption of "OECC" - the Branch's stuffed Polar Bear.  The winner receives adoption papers, a gift, and the safe keeping of OECC for one year.  All funds raised will go to either the World Wildlife Fund or the Canadian Wildlife Federation to help protect the fast disappearing habitat and survival of Polar Bears.  (The temperature today is +7C.)
